VALENTINES DAY PARTY!

The Valentines Day Party will be on Thursday, February 9th!  Lunch will be served.  Senior Center participants will be choosing a Valentine's Day King and Queen.  Prizes for the King and Queen will be provided by Tammy Hite.  Tickets should be purchased by February 8th and are $5.00 for members and $6.00 for nonmembers.

State Assembly Candidates Meet & Greet

On Friday, February 17th the Senior Center in conjunction with CHELP and Starting Point Senior Services, will host a special lunch with candidates running to represent us in Senior Services in Decatur and Macon County in Springield at 11:30am with lunch served at 12noon.  There will be no charge for lunch, but donations are appreciated.  Lunch reservations should be made by Thursday, February 16.  Even if you don't want lunch you are more than welcome to come and get aquainted with the candidates.

"Pedi-Cares by Gini Smith" Nail Trimming will be in February on Wednesdays:  February 8th and February 22nd from 8:30am - 3pm and in March on Thursday, March 8th and Friday, March 23rd from 8:30am-3pm.  Days are booking FAST!  Those interested in having their toe nails trimmed will need to call or stop by the reception desk to make an appointment for one of these days.

Foot maintnenace procedures include a therapeutic medicated soak, nail trimming and massage for a fee of $18 per session.  Please note the services will not be able to address chronic medical problems such as open wounds.

Diabetic Shoes - Tammy Hite, Diabetes Care Specialist from LifeCare Medical conducts New Customer Diabetic Shoe Clinic at the Senior Center on Thursday February 23rd from 10am - 2pm.  As a diabetic, did you know that you are entitled to a pair of therapeutic shoes and 3 pairs of inserts per calendar year?  This is a Medicare paid program. 

Tammy Hite will explain why the government is willing to pay for this program and the importance for you to wear good shoes.  Ms. Hite can assist with picking out the style of shoe you may want.  All sizes and widths are available.  Please bring your Medicare number, primary doctor's name and phone number and your secondary insurance card (if you have one).
